Chez Patrick

Here is a special address just to the south of Tours in the Loire Valley, situated close to the delightful town of Azay le Rideau. This cottage has been "built" in an 18th century barn which used to be used by the French Resistance during the 2nd World War, and has been recently fully restored. The property is located on a farm, and the owners who also live on the property in another house, chose this place for its serenity - a place that is hard to leave! There’s even a fishing lake! The owners have now decided to spend their retirement years here!

It is a short distance from Chinon, which is surrounded by wonderful vineyards with such well known names as Cravant and Crissay sur Manse. As well it is a relatively close distance from the beautiful village of Azay le Rideau with its beautiful Chateau, and a short distance as well to the spectacular gardens of Villandry, and the "Sleeping Beauty" castle of Ussé by the banks of the Loire. To the north of Tours you can also visit many of the major Chateaux there including Chambord, Cheverny, Chenonceaux etc. The closest village to the house is Saché which is about 1.5 kms away.

The cottage is perfect just for a couple, but a couple of children could also suit. There is a small well equipped kitchen and living/dining area which opens out on to a charming terrace surrounded by garden with hollhocks and roses. A stay here is special. It's a modest cottage but with a lovely soul. A most restful place surrounded by rambling gardens and a peaceful country setting, yet close to some of the most lovely Loire Valley sites.
