France the French way

Technology of Travel

Posted: 2010-04-06

In 1995 I developed a CD Rom which concentrated on French tourism and provided travel agents with an interactive way of planning travel in France. I travelled to Paris to make a presentation to the Maison de la France (equivalent of their government Tourist Department). I was shocked to find on my arrival there that no-one even had a computer with a CD Rom drive! It was obvious that some countries adopted new technology quicker than others! The CD Rom was impressive but was rapidly overtaken by the internet!

Now in 2010 communication is instant with all. Some of us remember the days when booking several nights at a Paris hotel took nearly up to one month to arrange. Now such reservations are almost instant, and people in any country can communicate instantaneously with experts like myself in securing the most suitable holiday.

Travelling in France has been a way of life for me for nearly twenty years, and every day I get a huge thrill from being able to assist people in developing their travel plans to France. I get a bigger thrill when those people have the best holiday ever – this is my aim.

Now as technology has developed with such speed, I am lucky to be able to share almost instantly my knowledge with all who are interested.

Now through my Blog I want to share with you the joys of France, from the backroads of Provence, to the azur blue Riviera, to the excitement of Paris. A bientot!
